The services provided by the Long Range Planning Section revolve around the particular projects of the Development Code, the 2006 Comprehensive Plan Update, and limited Center (& Neighborhood) Planning.  We review the zoning code and development regulations and ensure they're implementation (or make happen) of the Goals and Policies in the Comprehensive Plan.  Under the Growth Management Act (GMA) the city is required to review and if needed update its Comprehensive Plan by December 1, 2006.  Finally, under strong budget restraints and limited staffing some neighborhood and center planning is being completed in 2006.  There is a strong desire to continue and embolden the neighborhood planning efforts by the neighborhoods.
