URS Corporation is providing technical assistance to the City of Spokane during the update of the Spokane Shoreline Master Program.  URS’s role includes conducting an inventory of shoreline conditions, analyzing shoreline issues of concern, characterizing ecosystems and ecological functions of the shorelines, developing shoreline environment designations, and providing recommendations to the City regarding shoreline management goals, policies and regulations. URS Corporation is a global consulting engineering company that provides integrated multidisciplinary services from regional offices located in Spokane, Richland, Portland, Seattle, and Boise.  The Spokane URS office, which began as Bovay Northwest in 1954, became a wholly owned subsidiary of Dames & Moore in 1994.  In 1999, Dames & Moore merged with URS Corporation (URS).  The Spokane office is a branch office of the Seattle URS office and is comprised of 11 personnel including engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, environmental scientists, biologists, and technical and administrative support.  Additional information about URS Corporation can be found at http://www.urscorp.com/.
